We had a great first week!! In class, we talked about Texas' major rivers and aquifers that make it possible to live here in Texas. We also discussed the regions that make up Texas. Understanding the different regions will help you better understand the natives that called the land we now know as Texas home as you go into this week's reading.
Here is the homework for this week:
1) Complete Natives and Regions Map
2) Watch this illustration of stratification and write an ID statement for it. *Remember: 1 sentence on what it is, 1 sentence on why it is significant or important to know.

3) Read Vol 1, Ch 3
4) Write an ID statement for each native tribe of Texas.
5) Work on your selected project.
6) Watch this video about the Edwards Aquifer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3wpBI179Eg - write an ID statement to turn in. (this can be on the same paper as the stratification ID statement.) This is not on the homework check off... we were going to watch the video in class, but did not because my projector did not work. :-)
Don't forget, if you memorize the 11 rivers listed on the disk, you will get candy from us. :-)
